Tracy Southers-Parker, APR, is president of WordPlay, a public relations agency based in Grapevine, Texas. A senior level PR specialist with more than 20 years professional experience, her career includes corporate positions in telecommunications, real estate, hospitality, and technology; as well as serving as the public information officer for the City of Southlake, Texas. Prior to joining WordPlay in 2006, Tracy was a regional public relations director for Luxury Resorts, overseeing PR activities for two resorts and private golf club in Naples, Florida. Tracy attended The University of Texas, Austin, and received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from The University of Texas, Arlington. She attained the national accreditation in public relations (APR) designation in 2003.
“Being accredited in public relations is important to not only demonstrate that I’m knowledgeable, but also that I maintain high ethical standards and will always do what is right. What I won’t do on behalf of clients is stretch the truth, hide the facts, lie to customers, or avoid the media,” Tracy states.
Tracy is an active member of several professional and community organizations, including Public Relations Society of America, board member for Southlake Chamber of Commerce, Southlake Executive Forum, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, and Keep Grapevine Beautiful. In addition, she is a contributing writer to N.E.T. Business Resource and Southlake Style magazines, and a Gulfshore Business magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 business professional for 2007.
Tracy grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and currently lives in Grapevine.
