How Your Productivity (or lack of) is Killing Your Marketing

Do you ever feel like you’ve lost control of your day by 9AM?

Or, do you wonder why you got nothing accomplished at 6PM?

Yes, you were BUSY, but were you PRODUCTIVE?

I know firsthand there is a BIG difference between the two.

Which is why I’ve become more diligent/proactive/obsessed with time management…and why I’ve read this article in the Huffington Post multiple times:
7 Mistakes You’re Making In The Morning That Ruin Your Productivity.

WHAT? I’ve always blamed external factors for causing my day to go off track, but perhaps I’ve been the root of the problem.

I don’t necessarily agree with all seven of the mistakes listed in the article and we could debate the merits of getting dressed or benefits of having protein pancakes…but, here are three that I’ve taken to heart:

As a result, I’m implementing three changes for how I run my day:
1. Checking email and messages at designated times.
2. Blocking off time in my calendar for specific projects.

3. Prioritizing my daily to do list.

Why am I sharing all of this with you?

I don’t typically write about time management tips, but I am because of the impact it can have on your marketing program.

Think about it: If you’re getting more done, being proactive and prioritizing tasks that are most important, and assuming your marketing program is at or near the top of the list, you will see results!

HOW INCREASING YOUR PRODUCTIVITY WILL IMPROVE YOUR MARKETING:

🔶 Promote Your Business
What should you be doing daily, weekly, monthly to attract new customers? These tend to be tasks that can easily “slip through the cracks.”

🔶 Communicate with Customers
Staying in front of customers on a consistent basis is key for repeat business. This typically requires a focused, dedicated effort to ensure it gets done consistently.

🔶 Launch New Projects
These are the items that require big chunks of time, but can have the most impact.

Which of the productivity mistakes are you making?
How are you going to address them?
