We are one week away from the last 90 days of 2021.
Depending on your situation, you’re either saying WOO HOO or OH CRAP!
Regardless of your response, there are action items every business owner and marketing pro should do before the end of the year.
I have formalized this process with a fancy name: Q4 Marketing To Do List.
But, don’t let the lack of pizazz fool you.
The results of implementing these action items can impact your bottom line this year and beyond.
Q4 Marketing To Do List:
1. Update Website
If you haven’t noticed, the world has gone virtual. Which means your website is more important than ever. Ignore it at your peril. Is there new information, photos or videos to add? Do you have customer testimonials to share? What new features can you add to engage visitors, increase sales or improve customer service?
2. Clean Up Email Database
There is no easier, or cost efficient, way to reach your customers directly than via email. And, the most effective email marketing lists are based on quality, not quantity. So, remove or archive people who haven’t opened your messages in three months (or longer). And, segmenting your list into categories can increase open rates, engagement…and sales!
3. Survey Customers
Getting feedback from your customers is a no-brainer. At the very least, you can learn how they found you and why they chose you, which will have a big impact on your marketing. Beyond that, you should also ask questions to determine what you do well, what needs improvement, and what other product or service you can offer.
4. Review Goals
January seems like a lifetime ago, which is likely when you set your goals for the year. Are you on schedule to achieve them within the next 90 days…or have you gotten sidetracked along the way? The good news is it’s not too late! I’ve seen business owners cover more ground in 90 days than they have all year when they are focused and have a hard deadline. Watch this short video to find out how to kick marketing butt in Q4!
5. Prepare 2022 Marketing Plan
The most important marketing tool for every business is a plan. Without one, your marketing is most likely inconsistent, ineffective, and a guessing game. Use my Marketing Plan Checklist to get started and make sure you cover all your bases.
It’s time to put the pedal to the metal….which is why I call it the “kick it into high gear” quarter.
